Prom is overrated

basically prom is stupid in my opinion. people make a huge deal out of it. EXAMPLE of prom DRAMA:

"sally who are you going with?" sally "im going with billy its going to be so much fun, you know we still have to get sandy a date?" barbra "yea, sandy should really go with carlos" sally "you know i heard willy came to sussie's swimming practice ridding a little bike with a sign attached saying "prom?" omg!!! it was like so cute!!!!" barbra "OMG no way i wish people would ask me to prom like in a cute way, but no, daddy says i look too good for anyone to ask me...."

Yea that might not be totally correct, but basically that what i hear in my first block class with a group of girls. Yes its very annoying and i dont care about their problems of not getting a date. Maybe prom is your thing but i as you might know dont like being involved in really any school sponsored activity. We went through this on the old forum about a lack of school spirit, the different cliques and also why the changing norms of students has made less students at whs have the school spirit that usually only the student council and a few other students possess

But prom is way overhyped, a lot of people don't really care about it anymore-at least at other schools. Being able to letter in prom is just overboard, you shouldn't be rewarded for going to a dance.

i thought xc and track were sports, not activities such as clubs, dances, fundraisers.
